I have a orange grub eating the lilac tree in my garden?

this bug is appx. 1.5in long with a black head and an orange body it is burrowing right into the centre of my tree. can anyone help me identify this grub

seven dust or liquid seven sprayed on monthly will kill them off.

Reply:YUK, the clash of colours is not good...best to take one in jar to a garden centre for advice
