Good pets for flats????

Hi, I'm starting university in September, me and a friend will be moving into a flat without a garden in a busy city centre, any good ideas for indoor pets in this situation??

Looking for something that has character, that isn't too small and that is reasonably easy to take care of

Thanks!

Good pets for flats????
maybe a kitty or a fish?
Reply:How about a rabbit?? they're lovely, not too small and really easy to take care of. Plus they can be pottytrained =P
Reply:Land hermit crabs. I love mine to pieces but you will need to do research. I don't find them that hard but I've been taking care of them for 4 years. If you don't mind an animal that needs a heat source and humidity they are great. Most don't know how to care for them so they die early or are not active.

another easy pet with lots of character are Fire belly newts. My Fiance calls them " Cats of the water" We use feeder tongs and they chase their food like a cat. you can't handle them and they are small but they are more fun then a fish.
Reply:Siamese fighting fish are pretty easy.....though the downside is you cant cuddle them.......they do have their own personalities though. : )
